Connecting with Kids: Providing Limits, Love, and Emotional Safety

How do we cultivate strong connections and lead through challenging times with our kids?  The dance of the relationship between parent and child can feel bewildering, given the plethora of information available and mixed advice from others. Based in developmental science, this presentation will distill to the essence what kids need from us and how we can offer both love and limits. Sometimes the hardest part of parenting is figuring out how to hold on while also letting them go and engage in their world and face the futilites that exist. Passive or too authoritarian parenting doesn’t foster security in the relationship but how do we walk this tightrope and remain in the lead? There is way, and this presentation will shed light on how we can provide limits, love, and emotional safety so our kids can grow well.
