Courses
Courses allow you to take a deeper dive into developmental science and bring insights into your home, classroom, or clinical setting.
From baby to teen years and into parenthood, courses make sense of behaviour and emotional health and well-being. Drawing from the relational and developmental approach of Gordon Neufeld, courses are interdisciplinary by design and bring together attachment science, neuroscience, emotions, vulnerability, maturation theory, and cultural wisdom.
These questions guide our exploration and discovery into each aspect of human development throughout the courses –Â
What do our kids need to flourish?
What is the role of attachment, emotions, rest, and play in human development?
What can we do when they our kids get stuck and how would we know if they are?
How do we become the caretakers our children need?
What about our needs?Â
The Developmental Science Behind the Courses
There are four irreducible needs kids require to grow well: to attach, rest, play, and feel.
Children and teens need the kind of attachment that brings them to rest in our care, to feel emotionally safe, and to have true play. Understanding these essential needs and how they are tied together is embedded in all courses.
Whether we consider what a sensitive child needs to thrive, what to do with frustration and aggression, to sleeping or feeding issues, these essential needs guide us as we make sense of kids and how to best care for them.
REST
We need to be at rest to grow
PLAY
